put your hair in 2 loose plaits, but so it's underneath your ears, also, it looks cute if you make it so at the back of your head it looks uneven, meaning, just grab your hair and put it in the plaits, don't spend half an hour getting them even.

My suggestion is to put it in a pony tail braid. just put your hair in a pony tail and then braid it, or have someone else braid it. I'm sure that you know how to braid... right?

Why don't you get it cut to about mid back and have the stylist put in some long layers to give it some movement? It will be easier to style.

Your hair is way too long probably for you to style it the way you want to! So maybe you should get it cut, but only a couple of inches. I'm not saying cut it to your shoulders! Anyways it won't be so hard to deal with and you could do more things with it. Put it all up, in a bun, or ponytail, put it half down, all the way down. Put different clips in it, or get it cut to a certain style that is easy to maintain. Anyways good luck.

Here's what you do to find your shape: Look at yourself in the mirror and trace your face in the mirror with lipstick (yeah, it might ruin it, but at least you'll know!) the look back and see what shape you've got.

well first of all i think you shouldnt get bangs bcuz then your bangs will frizz and thats not good.

i suggest you do chemically straighten it and THEN get the bangs.

Honestly, you can work so much better with hair that is a bit shorter. It just depends if you're willing to trim it. I would cut it to just below the shoulders. You'll find it's easier to put body into it so that it's not just sitting there. I'd put some mousse in it, dry it upside down to build body into the straight hair. Good luck! Also, you can curl it with a straightening iron. It stays a lot longer then the curling iron. Start at the top of a section hair, and rotate it while pulling it through. Get a straightener with rounded plates. This works best for a good curl.

I have straight hair also, and i usually part it zig-zag because it makes it a different look or not all the ways off to the side but not all the way in the middle... you know? like a lop-sided part. It is really popular in Hollywood!! also you could put your hair up half down, i always do that!! If you really wanted to change your hair you could either crimp it or (i bet you think im crazy) but get a perm!! Good luck!!

My hair is almost that length (a few inches less). Some things i do:

Side parting+side ponytail

Out with a thick headband

Two low pigtails

A high ponytail with a thin headband

A low ponytail

Half-ponytail with a thin headband

A braid down the head (I stop at my neck, and tie it so it's half a braid and half a ponytail).

You can also do rows of little twists at the crown of your head and beyond, with clips.

Remember to use accessories such as:

Thin headbands

Thick headbands

Cute clips

Pretty elastics and scrunchies

Well I have long hair myself so usually my hair is always like how it is in the picture. I also sometimes curl mine. If your hair is dark brown or black then you would probably look wonderful. I also straighten my hair as well. Its a great way to put your hair when you are'nt feeling dressy or when you are feeling kinda normal. Oh and like never wear your hair in a regular pony tail. It looks hiddious if you have long hair. If you would though, put it in a high pony tail and maybe put moose and a little bit of hairspray on it too

I am planning on getting my shoulder length naturally curly hair cut before school starts. I want more layers because my hair doesn't have a very nice shape right now. I'm also thinking about long, side bangs because my sister has wavy hair and her bangs look great on her. I know I'd have to straighten the bangs everyday but will they look right with my curly hair? Are they really a lot of work? Last time I chickened out about getting bangs because the hair dresser said it would be hard to have style them without looking goofy.

I have really curly hair too, it's just passed my shoulders, and I part it to the side, have layers, and have bangs. They are all to one side and look really great straight with my hair curly or on days I don't feel like straightening them they still look good curly. I say definitely do it!

I wore my hair in a bouffant do once, I went to my mums salon and her stylist took great delight in roller setting my hair, putting me under a dryer and then backcombing my hair after she removed the rollers into a huge bouffant which lasted for about a week. It also left my hair very dry and I had to get a couple of deep heat conditioner treatments to get it back to normal

however i have very straight hair and still roller set it to create curls but I will never let it be backcombed again, Its a wonder that women in the sixties managed to keep their hair with all the torture that they put it through

There are a lot of people who wear what is now called a mullet, which used to be called a shag back in the '70s. I wear mine in a pageboy now, but then I'm in my 50s, so....just wear what makes you feel good about yourself. Trends come and go so often, it's hard to keep up sometimes. And not everybody looks good in the "lastest" styles, so go with what makes you comfortable.

I went for my practice hairdo and it was awful! I need a new picture to take my hairstylist. What I'm looking for is a picture with the veil in it. I have long hair and want the back to be left down some with curls and some up and the veil to be closer to the back of my head (my hairdresser put it right up by my bangs and it looked stupid). Just have her do the style you want then specifically show her where to pin the veil. I'm having my hair completely up then pinning it to the underside of the up-do. Just have her put it have up and curled like you want then tell her you want the veil pinned underneath the the portion that is up. I'm sure you will look beautiful, congrats.

It doesn't have to be a grand gesture...just something platonic. If he's still a jerk after that, he is in serious need for some therapy. Unless you have a high forehead, with a square shaped face I would avoid bangs, but layers on the other had would be perfect, you need to have layers that will frame your face and kind of give it the look of a heart shaped face.

Goto Barnes %26amp; Noble or Borders book stores and goto their magazine section. They have TONS of mag's filled with pictures and ideas. When you find one mag that has lots of good ideas in it, you can buy it and take it with you to the salon. It's much easier to show a stylist what you want then try and explain it.

Some the mag's have an ad on the back cover, for a free online style profile. You can upload your picture in and "try on" lots of different styles to see what looks best. I don't know the website URL off-hand or I'd post it. But it's on the cover of several of the mag's I was looking at in the store.

My hair is very wavy (but NOT frizzy)... you know, I have like these long locks of hair and I often get cowlicks!!! Man, I hate them cowlicks (where the hair naturally curls up for no reason and it's very hard to comb it flat)... My hair is always poofy and like an afro and I want to flatten it 'cuz it's hard to comb it through (my comb always gets stuck in between the tangled hairs).

are you willing to blow dry your hair? you can blow dry it straight really easily, just slide your brush down a strip of hair so its taut and (while holding the blow dryer at a 45 degree angle or so) keep the blow dryer an inch away from your hair and slide the blow dryer down your hair. after 1 or 2 strips of hair you should get the hang of it! And I'm not a big fan of that hairstyle on a guy....but I really love it when guys have wavy hair that is a little above shoulder length...you could just rock it like that too (like surferish)

some ideas to cheaply "flatten" your hair is to blow dry it. when you get out of the shower, towel dry it then blow dry it using a flat paddle brush. it is important to not lift your hair while drying it or it will sort of poof up a little. so just keep running the paddle brush flat to your head while your blow drying. another option, if you want to use chemicals, is to go to sallys (or another beauty supply store) and buy a perm kit (no rods needed) then wash your hair with clarifying shampoo, do not condition your hair. after you've washed your hair (and rinsed the shampoo out) comb your hair straight, mix the perm solution as directed, apply thoroughly, be sure to saturate your hair,comb the solution through your hair. leave it on as directed and follow any other directions. just keep your hair as straight and flat as possible during the processing time. as far as the name of haircuts, haircuts dont really have names. that particular style just looks like it has many layers. it almost looks like a variation of a mullet.

I have very thin, long hair that falls falt to my head and I hate it. I've tried every trick in the book to get my hair to appear thicker. Hair experts usually suggest short bobs to give the appearance of thickness, but I prefer longer hairstyles.

I'm ready for a change, and would be willing to go as short as shoulder lenght at the most. I want someting fun and sassy with layers and body.

Does anyone have any suggestions that would be the best for my hair type and desires? I have an oval face, as well if that helps.

I used to use a curling iron to try an pry the hair nearest to my part upward and outward and then use hair spray to keep it up off my head. It became a disgusting mess. I've tried blow drying my hair upside down and different shampoos and products. I know at some point I just have to accept the hair the Good Lord gave me! But as far as hair CUTS go I was just wondering if there's any othet option besides a bob or someting that short that can make me look good.

i have the same situation as you do. what i do to make my hair appear thicker is have shorter layers on the top. you can also tease the top crown area but dont overdo it too much volume could make it look like you are stuck in the 80's. explain to your stylist that you would like shorter layers in the crown area so that it would appear that you more lift and volume. there is also the option of a permanent wave. the perm gives your hair more lift. You can get a loose perm that gives your hair a little wave which is also very easy to straighten with a hairdryer but leaves the volume.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (Maybe 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Use a teaspoon of every oil and honey,.... a little more if ur hair is long or a little less if ur hair is short

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed, fortify, reconstruct, moisturize, soften %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can also use a conditioner but get a light conditioner that wont wiegh ur hair down, becuz u can over condition, I use herbl essences "clean happy" conditioner.

When I do this at nite, I wake up, shampoo %26amp; condition, rinse and style as usual. Has worked for years

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.

I am planning on getting my shoulder length naturally curly hair cut before school starts. I want more layers because my hair doesn't have a very nice shape right now. I'm also thinking about long, side bangs because my sister has wavy hair and her bangs look great on her. I know I'd have to straighten the bangs everyday but will they look right with my curly hair? Are they really a lot of work? Last time I chickened out about getting bangs because the hair dresser said it would be hard to have style them without looking goofy.

They are hard to get used to at first, but after a few days, you won't really mind. Perhaps your stylist has not seen the look, and just assumes they will look goofy. i know you said you dont look good with straight hair but definatly try this!! to get it poofy like that you have to have short layers and do something called teasing its where you brush your short layers upward so instead but brushing it down brush it up

sorry no pics. but long chunky layers or razering look good and you can give this umph with vovumizer @ roots and wax @ ends 4 a piecer look. u can still go short try going 2 a really nice salon telling the stylish ur prob and bringing some pics of what u like and geting a splurge haircut. then when u need a trim go back 2 the usuall one and just ask for a trim keeping existing style

Gel your hair and pull it up into an up do. Have some hair hanging out in the front and pull into a high ponytail and put some curls in it using a curling iron. . . . . .

Get a curling iron where you can curl it to be in ringlets and dress it up that way and let it hang down your back. That sounds like a tedious job for you to do with all that hair. Get a friend to help with the curling if you choose to do that.

Suggestions are limited since you don't want to cut , color or go to a stylist. Good Luck!!

I'm 38 and I had super short hair in my 20's and it looked HORRIBLE on me. I let it grow out and it is now to the middle of my back, just as long as I had it as a child. Much easier to deal with since it's all one length. I can cut it when I want to and not have to worry about layering. The salons here will charge you for a full service to have an inch taken off. No thanks.

I like the soft curls idea, but because of the halter neckline I would do soft curls and pull your hair up loosely on the sides and secure with a really pretty clip or pretty hair pins. This will accent your face and neckline and allow you to have it down a little. Or you could curl it and sweep it up into a half french twist and let the curls hang down. For a little more effect, twist a few curls up and put pretty pins in it. Good luck!

Yes the style of the dress definitely plays a role in your hairstyle! For your hair length, you can do a lot!!!

Since you would like to wear it down, you should wear the front pulled up- pony twist thing wear its frenchbraided on the sides or twisted on the sides going back and wear the ponytail it creats loose. The back half can lay down in drop/spiral curls. You can probably even put flowers in your hair fo a princess look.

Another suggestion is to put it all up and allow your ends to fall loosely in spiral curls 4 a messy on purpose- sultry look.

zig-zag part down the middle all the way down (think ponytails).

ponytail each side at the crown (or higher) loosely and tie (think shoelace) one time.

use hairpins to secure it down.

you can also do a deep side part for drama.

this is an awesome style for heavy or thick hair. super easy.

This especially looks good if you have a darker hair color and have longer bangs.

If your bangs are longer another option is that you can pin the up in you hair pony tail. this would also look very well with the side hair in spiral curls.

if you put you hair in a regular ponytail i suggest putting the tail in spiral curls but not the part that is closer to your head... if that makes any sense at all.

long hair looks good with a round face trust me and with the hair a head band makes it look more round and so does tieing it up so i would go with let it loose and if you have a striaghtening iron flatten it and then use hair spray but if you don't what ever you do don't pull it away from you face

maybe you should get a haircut. get some side swept bangs so it won't make your face look so round then get a few layers. you don't have to cut it short, just adding a few layers on top. that'll do wonders to your appearance. when you leave your hair plain straight, it shows that you don't take effort into making yourself look nice. for some people its fine but i'm sure you'll feel sexier with a new cut. sorry if i'm babbling. if i had to choose from your options though, i would say put pins because the other styles will make your head look big.

My hair is quite long and all one length. I would like to go for a modern cut with long layers in it (so I can put it in a ponytail for sports at school etc). I would also like a long angle [emo] fringe [that falls over my eyes] that is long enough to go into the ponytail but can also look stylish down on it's own. I also like putting plaits in my hair overnight to make it come out wavy in the morning so I don't want anything too drastic. And I'd like to be able to style it in different ways e.g. curls and straight... Can anyone suggest anything or offer any websites which will give me my 'perfect' cut? Or is this too much to ask?

And I'd prefer not to have long lists of websites with hundreds of layered cuts on it that people have just found randomly on google.. Trust me, I've searched through them all!

When your hair's wet, use either a root-pump spray or mousse (I like Matrix Vavoom Root Riser). Spray it onto your roots section by section, rubbing it in each time. Then blow dry your hair upside down and it will be huge! From there, you can take a section of hair at the front of your head and flip it forward onto your face. Take the hair underneath and backcomb it, then hairspray it so it stays. (I know this sounds scary, but if you have straight hair it won't be hard to get out after.) Take the section of hair that's flipped forward, and pull it back over the "hump." Use a ton of bobby pins to hold it in place and finish with hairspray!

It should stay for as long as you want it to!

I took this stuff once called Vitamin B12, B6 with Folic Acid you could order off of infomercials. I used it for about a year. I tried it because I felt tired all the time. It really did help but another benefit of it was, my hair grew %26amp; it grew rather quickly. My hair has ALWAYS grown so slow. The folic acid is what really did it. The thing is, with this vitamin more of it gets into your system than vitamins you buy at the store because these actually dissolve on your tongue. They taste good to. But I'm telling you from my experience this stuff is amazing! The absorbtion of the folic acid is what gets the hair growing. I've included a website for you. eat healthy...veggies,fruit,meat...dont eat sweets like cake, cookies,ice cream, candy, or stuff like sprite,coke,pepsi,dr pepper...(i no they're good!!!lol...)but,its bad on ur hair...%26amp; dont use blow dryers(they dry ur hair %26amp; cause split ends, if u do, put it on cool...),curling irons,or straighteners...the heat is bad on ur hair...dont use rubber bands, or ponytails, they're also bad on ur hair...use a hair vitamin, it will make it grow faster...%26amp; go 2 these sites...
