but im SO SCARED cos iv had really long hair for so many years i dont know what it would look like.

I think you should get it cut shorter. maybe not totally shaved but with a little left on top so you can style it for something different.

As an avid head-shaver myself you should worry about the shape of your head UNDER your hair. Some people have heads that just don't look right. Feel around, see if it's symmetrical and make sure there aren't any weird curves or bumps.
