Hair cut and color for long brunette hair?

I have long brunette hair that is a little past halfway down my back. It's starting to bore me as I've been trying to just grow it out for the past couple years. Any one have any ideas for hair color and cuts that would look good?

I would like my hair to STAY long I'm thinking more like different styles of bangs and such. Thanks!

Get layers and get side swept bangs.They look good on about everyone.And trim your hair about a few inches past your shoulders.
